I wanted my Video to be authentic and raw so I used a technique know as the long take technique where I filmed the video in one go without cutting in between. My video was mainly based on my two passions which are football and film making.
In my video, I tried being as honest and transparent as I could be as in my opinion the audience connects most with real and raw content. Authenticity also plays a massive role.
I think introduction videos are the most important when starting on social media as it tells the audience about a creators likes and dislikes, which would give the audiences an idea of what a creator’s content might be and if they would like to watch more of it or not.
Creating a brand of social media is becoming increasingly essential because of the variety of advantages it brings to creator’s private and career objectives.
Social media is a strong instrument for creating a personal position, creating an impression of individuals that allows a person to reach out in the industry.
Planning is the most important aspect while filming a video, I started with creating a pre-production checklist. I started by writing a script which would help me interact with the audience in the right manner, I was aware that I have to convey my side in less than 3 minutes so the script had to be crisp and to the point. Secondly, I bought a tripod which helped me a lot while filming the video,
For filming, I used an iPhone which has two 12 megapixel cameras, one with a wide-angle lens and one with a zoom lens, which was important for a good video and audio quality. I filmed in my room where the lighting was amazing.
Further, I corrected the video quality and audio quality in Lightworks editing software, where I played with the video contrast and color balancing to make my video more visually appealing.
I used inbuild backgrounds and transition in my video which gives the video a creative edge, I also embedded and non-Copywrite song to my video which makes the video more interesting to watch.
While making this video I learned about facing the camera, initially, when I started It was hard talking to the camera but as I practiced it became easier. Earlier I was very nervous around cameras but now I think I have developed a new skill of talking to the camera which hopefully will help me in the future.
Some challenges I faced were due to my camera’s video quality, but I was able to fix and adjust it in the post-production work.
Overall it was a great learning experience which instilled confidence in me to face the camera without feeling nervous, I also learned about how to engage with the audience and learned about music copywrite issues. It definitely will help me in my future work.
Digital technologies have taken on an increasingly important role in educational environments in recent years. Children are ‘ digitally competent from a very young age ‘ It was also reported that digital tools encourage social learning, as children often use and chat about it together. (Knauf 2016)
According to the latest research outlets, children’s everyday lives from one to eight years old have a fascinating and significant role to play. Media awareness and media environments for kids also need to be seen as part of early childhood education (Leinonen & Sintonen 2014)

Recently, academics, educational professionals, and the public have reached a consensus that high-quality information should be freely available, openly and conveniently to foster digital equality across countries, territories, and schools Consequently, almost every country has made significant investments in creating digital educational resources for teachers and children. (Wanga, Admiraala & Tigelaara 2019)
Most digital media devices and educational activities to use at home with young children are intended to teach linguistic skills and read preparation skills, such as vocabulary, phonics, word detection, phrase creation, and foreign language learning. Studies have found that well-designed interactive learning systems can be successful in such fields. (Lieberman, Demartino & So 2009)
Digital media can help improve the language abilities of children and their learning of spelling and comprehension, enhance their early writing skills, and increase word recognition and phrase production compared to conventional methods of teaching. (Lieberman, Demartino & So 2009)
Education online has been helping preschoolers learn a second language. One study concluded that multimedia stories based on the Internet strengthened the comprehension of English communication among 6 years old Spanish children 6 years old. Several online learning tests found that children who were not deaf strengthened their sign language abilities (Lieberman, Demartino & So 2009)
Online digital channels may lead to learning mathematics for young children. Some facets of early informal mathematics instruction, such as enumeration, numerical problem solving, abstract thinking, and geometric understanding, grow significantly over the pre-school years; as a consequence, more attention has been paid to digital technologies and software that teaches early mathematical concepts. (Lieberman, Demartino & So 2009)
One study found that the educational computer learning systems Millie’s Math House [ 1992 edition by Edmark and James Discovers Math [ 1995 edition by Broderbund ] increased mathematical knowledge of children when installed in a pre-school classroom. (Lieberman, Demartino & So 2009)
Well-designed computer programmes which are open-ended and give some flexibility over learning experiences to the consumer, and provide incentives for artistic choices or artistic speech, can promote creative learning strategies for children and can generate interest and involvement. (Lieberman, Demartino & So 2009)
A study found , Young kids who were regularly exposed to this style of open-ended desktop-based learning demonstrated more interest, theory, question formulation and answer, teamwork, inspiration, positive self-assessment and positive appraisal of learning than children who were interested in more computer-assisted teaching with very little user control. (Lieberman, Demartino & So 2009)
Researchers examined the growth of children’s cognitive skills through digital media and noticed, for example, that well-designed computer-based learning exercises and games may enhance abstract thinking capabilities, represent and interpret and assess knowledge planning; (Lieberman, Demartino & So 2009)
With the use of machines at home and at school, eye-hand coordination has increased. Young children have also developed their abilities in major issue-solving, spatial visualization, spatial perception, iconic capabilities and visual attention abilities when using devices and computer games at school and for fun during spare time at home (Lieberman, Demartino & So 2009)
Around the same time, there is so considerable confusion about the importance of emerging media for young children. Early-age learning processes are characterised by their immediacy and the significance of sensory stimuli; by contrast, modern technology provides indirect and conceptual perspectives. (Knauf 2016)
So, it is no wonder that many parents and teachers tend to be sceptical regarding digital tools and recent studies has shown that emerging innovations are rarely used in early childhood learning and training. (Knauf 2016)
The use of digital media in educational settings is heavily influenced by prevailing attitudes and biases and several reports have shown a hesitation to use such technologies. To addition to the critical view of digital media, several early childhood schools still remain poorly equipped for smartphones, laptops, smart boards and Internet access. (Knauf 2016)

Making a podcast was something very new to me and I had never made or experience one, I personally do not listen to podcasts so before this assignment I had bare minimum knowledge about how to make a podcast, but while doing this assessment I learned a lot about making a podcast.
It sure was very challenging initially so I had to research about podcast creation after researching a little a got to know that, Podcasting is an arena far less populated than blogging. There are just over 1 Million podcasts as of January 2020 but over 500 million blogs.
After getting to know that I was more interested to know about how to set up a professional podcast and I found out that a great podcast means good hardware. , a basic minimum installation might get me through, With nothing more than my iPhone i can record a podcast, but it will feel unprofessional and low quality which a listener might not like or appreciate.
With a microphone, the audio quality begins and ends. The smoother and clearer your microphone sounds the better and quality podcast you can make.
After learning a few things about podcast creation I started researching about my topic which was ‘Digital Media and Surveillance’. Where I talk about social media surveillance mainly focusing on Facebook.
Before dwelling on my topic I had to understand what surveillance means in digital media terms and I found out that Surveillance refers to the systematic and continuous collection of personal data.
In my Podcast, I talk about the main reason behind facebook’s mobile two-factor authentication where I speak about how Facebook uses our phone number for target advertising which is unethical as we are not informed about why Facebook’s main agenda behind “two-factor authentication”.
Later in the podcast I dwell into how police can access our social media mainly facebook without us being aware of it and the police can actually see what we like, dislike, share, and comment which is invasion of privacy, later I also give an example about in a political aspect of social media surveillance in Thailand which gives a very clear idea about digital media surveillance.
In the podcast, I have also used non-copy write music from Bensound.com as my intro and background music, which wasn’t very hard to do as this was taught to me in my class ALC708.
It was a little challenging making a podcast as I wasn’t much aware of what software to use but after doing my research I found out about Audacity software which made my life easier and study notes were very helpful as always, overall making the podcast was fun and enjoyable and a great learning experience which I would definitely continue to do in the future.

Identity is considered the foundation and essence of organizations.(DUMAN & PASAMEHMETOGLU 2019)
Social media platforms are becoming increasingly important in our lifestyles because they are the places we “display” our impressions and experiences of life. They also represent our status in the digital and physical social life in a number of aspects. (Gündüz, 2017)
In today’s world, the Social media websites are becoming increasingly important and have a stronger influence on society than conventional media. Social media facilitates the communication, discovery and creativity of identity. (Gündüz, 2017)
There’s a lot to say about how a person decides to be presented in a social context and portray themselves. The number of social environments has increased dramatically with the advent of the Web and social media sites.
Everyone with a mobile device and wi-fi connection will be able to look up whether you are on web pages including such Facebook, , Instagram, Whats app,We chat, i message or Twitter and have direct exposure to your online persona. (Valencia 2019)
One’s involvement may differ from a single email address to posting 20 picture online every day. We are programmed in modern culture to share on social media as it spills into our personal lives. (Valencia 2019)
We can see numerous commercials urging people to use their hash tag to announce a new brand.
We are working towards encouraging things we love and sharing our insights and experience Uploading on such platforms is clearly not restricted to simply brand support, as we as people have the opportunity to express our varied interests and viewpoints on whatever we see appropriate.
The topic we want to highlight digitally is typically unusual. We’re looking forward to being exceptional. We want to have all our eyes on us.
Personally, My Online Identity depends on the social media platform I’m using. It is true that we construct the technology but the technology also constructs us as we become what the technology allows us to become.
Face Book
Facebook is a platform for social media which allow people to post posts, share pictures and post comments to information or other relevant internet content, talk online, and watch a brief-form video. (Nations 2019)
Personally, for me Facebook is very important as i use Facebook to run my Facebook page where i make brief videos about Soccer news, updates using memes and humour, On Facebook, i use small movie clips in my videos to make my content more engaging and funny, which i cannot do on YouTube mainly due to fair use.
Online Personality or Online Identity i reflect on my Facebook page is different from my Online Identity on my twitter or my family what’s app group.
On my Face book page i can be my causual self and act care free, where i like to make soccer fans laugh and joke about a players performance, sometimes i might use cuss words to express my opinion about a game which i cannot do on twitter where i am more formal and which i mainly use for my University purpose.
Twitter is one of the most popular social media platforms, and the most popular microblogging service (Geva, Singer & Tsechansky 2019)
Instagram is accessible on Apple iOS, Android and Windows Phone as a free photo and video sharing device. Users can upload and post photos or videos to instagram to their followers or a small group of friends. people can also view, comment, and like posts shared on Instagram by their friends. Anyone aged 13 or older can create an account by creating an email address and selecting a username. (“What is Instagram? | Instagram Help Centre” 2019)
My Online Identity on Instagram is way more private and personal than my online identity on My Facebook page. On my private Instagram i post picture, videos and posts which would only be considered enjoyed by my close friends.
The profile picture i use on My Instagram is different from the one i use on my facebook page or on my twitter.
On my Instagram page my profile picture is with my dog, which i cannot use on my facebook page as it would not interest my audience and same goes for twitter where i have to look more professional, sophisticated and well put together.
Online Identity or Online personality, in my opinion, brings out different shades of my own inner personality on a virtual platform, which i then chose to put on different social media platforms in a different way.
